Walking Warriors 3rd Annual Walk to Battle Breast Cancer

Walking Warriors 3rd Annual Walk to Battle Breast Cancer

For the safety and health of our walkers, families and communities, our annual Walking Warriors Battling Breast Cancer Walk event will not be held this year.

From Louis M. Weiner, MD / Director, Georgetown Lombardi Comprehensive Cancer Center

Dear Walking Warriors,

We are in an unprecedented moment, and life as we know it has changed. Business is anything but usual. As a result of this pandemic, our usual occasions to come together have been postponed or canceled.  This is particularly unfortunate, as I am energized by these gatherings, and they help fuel and animate the work that we do at Georgetown Lombardi. During this time when we cannot be together, my thoughts are with you and your families, wishing for your health and well-being.

As your planned walk weekend approaches, I want to express my gratitude at your continued commitment to Georgetown Lombardi. Together you have raised close to $40,000 - an incredible task! While this year may look different, I am bolstered by the Walking Warriors unremitting efforts to come together in times of uncertainty, starting in 2017 with the cancellation of the Avon walk. I have no doubt you will exceed your 2021 goals.

Please stay safe, wash your hands, and know you are in our thoughts at Georgetown Lombardi.

With gratitude,

Our goal is to raise awareness and funds which go toward:

Georgetown-Lombardi's Breast Cancer Research

Community Service and Education Programs

We will each Walk on May 2, 2020
